Today I am going to share with you 30 DIY pumpkin decorating ideas that you can easily create for a minimum budget!
The month of October is all about being creative and original with fun Halloween/fall decorations.
That’s why I put together this list of creative and easy to make pumpkin decorating ideas!
Also, most of these ideas are no-carve pumpkin decorations, so they are super easy and quick to make! Let’s get started!

DIY Pumpkin Decorating Ideas:
1. Mickey Mouse Pumpkin
How cute is this Mickey Mouse pumpkin? And fun fact – it is super easy to create!
Here’s what you are going to need:
- 1 medium-sized pumpkin
- 2 small pumpkins, equally proportioned
- Black acrylic paint
- Small paintbrushes
- Shish kebab skewers
- A ballpoint pen

2. Donut Pumpkins
These unique and colorful donut pumpkins will definitely add a touch of color to your home.
Here’s why you are going to need:
- 3 small pumpkins
- Tan/light orange spray paint
- Hot pink acrylic paint
- White acrylic paint
- Brown acrylic paint
- More colorful acrylic paint (this set is perfect for this DIY)
- Thin paint brushes
All you are going to do is to spray the pumpkins with a light orange/tan spray paint.
Then, wait for it to dry and paint the top half of the pumpkin in the wanted color (pink/white/brown).
Wait until it completely dries, and simply paint the sprinkles with small paintbrushes.
3. Miney Mouse Pumpkin
You can’t do Mickey without Miney, right? No worries, we didn’t forget about her! This pumpkin decorating idea is so cute and super easy to create.
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A pumpkin
- Black acrylic paint
- Pink acrylic paint
- White acrylic paint
- 4mm craft rhinestones
- Hot glue gun
- 1 piece of cardboard (for the ears)
- Paintbrushes
- Pink Polka Dot Ribbon
The process of creating the Miney Mouse pumpkin is pretty self-explanatory.
All you are going to do is to paint half of the pumpkin black, and the bottom half of it pink.
While the paint is drying, you can create the ears! Take a piece of cardboard and cut out two circles.
Then, paint them black and wait until they dry. Once the black and pink paint on the pumpkin is dry, you can paint the white dots on the pink paint.
Also, glue the fake rhinestones in the middle of the pumpkin (as seen in the picture above).
When the black paint on the ears dry, glue the fake rhinestones around the year.
Once everything dries, glue the years to the sides of the pumpkin and stick the pink bow as seen in the picture!
4. Unicorn Pumpkin
This adorable unicorn pumpkin is much easier to make as you think!
Here’s what you’ll need:

- Air-dry clay
- Kabob stick
- Foam block
- Fake flowers

5. M&M Pumpkins
These pumpkins are so cool! You need to know how to paint the faces, so if you are not the best with the drawing I will pass this decoration idea, but it is definitely worth a try!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
- 6 pumpkins (or less if you are not doing all of them)
- Red acrylic paint
- Yellow acrylic paint
- Orange acrylic paint
- Blue acrylic paint
- Brown acrylic paint
- Green acrylic paint

Here’s What You’ll Need:
- A pumpkin
- White acrylic paint
- Tape
- Paintbrush
All you are going to do is to stick the tape onto the pumpkin to create the chevron look.
Then, start painting the pumpkin with white acrylic paint. Once the paint dries, you just simply take off the tape and that’s it!
