Become a Virtual Assistant
What I love about being a virtual assistant (I’ve been one on the side for a few months now), is that I can work from anywhere in the world at any time from my laptop.
Virtual assistants usually help bloggers, artists, business owners, and any other professionals that have small tasks they need to do but don’t have the time for it.
This means that they can ask you to answer emails, make important phone calls, help them with graphic design, manage their social media accounts, or even write blog posts for them.
When you are looking for job opportunities, make sure to check for work from home job opportunities so you will find jobs that only require virtual tasks you can do from home.
Sell Your Clothes on DEPOP/Poshmark
One of the best ways to make money online, and especially in college, is by selling your clothes on the internet!
All you need to do is to go through your closet and find clothing items you don’t wear anymore.
Make sure the clothes (also shoes/accessories/anything you want) are in good condition.
Then, start taking pictures of the clothes and post them for sale on Depop/Poshmark or even Facebook’s market place!
Start a Blog!
My favorite thing about blogging is doing something I love while working on it from any place in the world and being my own boss.
In the beginning, blogging can be very time-consuming. But if you can fit it into your schedule, it will be perfect.
If you have a subject you are passionate about, and you also love writing about, starting a blog can be the perfect way for you to make extra money during college while doing something you love.
Blogging isn’t a “get rich quick” type of job, and the success definitely doesn’t come overnight, but if you do it right, and put your time into it, your blog can definitely turn into a big chunk of your salary every month and even your main source of income!
Create Print On Demand Products And Sell Them Online
This is the same idea as creating and selling digital products/printables, but it is much more fun!
Print on Demand (POD) means that you create designs on Photoshop or even Canva, and “print” them on physical products for free.
YUP, you read that right – for free.
This income stream is also very passive because you only create the designs once and then let the POD platforms (for example TeeSpring, RedBubble, etc) deal with the production and shipping.
Doggie sit
People go on vacations or need help with their dog (or cat) during the day.
If you can fit doggie sitting into your college schedule, and if you love dogs, this can be a nice option to make some extra cash in-between classes!
Babysitting
Parents always need help with taking care of and watching their kids. Look around your neighborhood, and let people know you are babysitting!
Usually, babysitting isn’t a hard job, but you do need to be very responsible.
People are giving you the most precious thing they have. It’s a great way to make a lot of money (especially if you have a steady family or two you are babysitting for).
If you can fit it in your scheduele, give it a try!
Freelance Writing
If you are good at writing and have some-what of experience in writing articles, you can build your profile on Fiverr and offer your services as a freelance writer for bloggers, online businesses, and other content websites!
Create & Sell Printables on Etsy
This is one of my favorites actually and I’ve also done it myself for a while. You can easily create many printables in various niches and sell them online!
It is pretty much a very passive income stream which is great for college students.
All you need to do is to create pretty printables such as calendars, printable notebooks, printable planners, printables for decorating, and more!
Monetize Your Social Media Accounts
If you have a large following on Instagram/TikTok/or even Facebook, you can monetize your social media platforms and make some money!
A lot of people don’t know this, but you can make a lot of money online if you have a nice amount of followers, and mainly an engaged audience on a platform.
In fact, you don’t even need to have 50K followers to make money, you can also have 1500 followers and monetize your social media platform by making money with affiliate marketing and sponsored posts!
You can collaborate with brands and do sponsored posts for them, you can also refer to a recommended products landing page with all of your favorite affiliate products (which means that if someone purchases a product through your link you can make a commission from the sale).
Provide a Service
If there is something you are an “expert” at, such as baking, doing makeup, hairdressing or even cooking, you can offer these services to friends, family, or other people and earn some extra cash!
And that’s it! I hope this article covered for you the “how to make money in college” question, and that you got some new ideas on how to make extra cash as a college student!
