Moving into your first apartment can definitely be overwhelming. There is so much to do, so much to buy, so many things you need to think of!
Well, first of all, this is the exact reason why I created the First Apartment Moving Bundle, but that’s also the reason why I am creating this blog post.
It’s weird moving into your first apartment, and being incharge of cleaning your place. Apperatnly, you actually need to do the dishes, and if you don’t do your laundry, you won’t have any clean clothes! 😉

First Apartment:
Broom & Dustpan
It is pretty self-explanatory why you’ll need everything I share in this blog post. But I will talk a bit about each one.
A Broom & dustpan lets you quickly sweep up dirt, dust, or anything unpleasant you don’t want in your place.
Vacuum
I can’t imagine life without a vacuum. Especially if you have a cordless vacuum like the Dyson vacuums, or an iRobot vacuum that vacuums on his own!
Mop
The floor wouldn’t clean itself… would it? 😉
I highly recommend this mop cleaning system from Amazon, it has everything you’ll need to mop your floor. From the mop itself, to these awesome buckets, it has it all!
Extendable Duster
Keep your space fresh and clean with this extendable duster that will allow you to dust every corner and high shelf in your apartment!
Microfiber Cloth Set
I love using microfiber cloths for easily cleaning surfaces around my place, and I especially use them to clean my kitchen counters!
Glass/Window Cleaner
Keep those windows and glasses clean with the Windex glass cleaner bundle!
I am not a cleaning expert, but I love the Windex glass cleaner for cleaning windows and my glass dining table.
All Purpose Cleaner Spray
You can never go wrong with an all-purpose cleaner spray, and clean everything you need around the apartment.
I highly recommend the Mrs. Meyer’s all purpose cleaner spray pack, it comes with 3 bottles, and is pretty affordable as well!
Kitchen Cleaning Supplies:
Dish Soap
Once again, a pretty obvious cleaning essential, but definitely a must-have!
I found on Amazon this Amazon Basics dish soap set, that comes with 4 dish soaps bottles, so it will definitely last for a long time.
Dish Sponges
Don’t forget some dish sponges!
This dish sponges pack comes with 24 sponges, and are great for washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen.
Sink Cleaner
If you have a metal sink in your kitchen, you should definitely try out this Hope’s Perfect Sink Cleaner from Amazon!
Finish Dishwasher Detergent
The Finish dishwasher detergent is actually my favorite. I love their dishwashing tablets pack, it comes with 94 tabs, and are perfect for making your dishes fresh and shiny!
Paper Towels
Although they are not eco friendly, and I try my best to be as eco friendly I can, I feel like I am not ready to give up yet on paper towels.
Anyways, this Amazon Basics paper towels pack comes with 12 paper towel rolls, and is sooo affordable!
Stainless Steel Cleaner
I love using the Weiman stainless steel cleaner for cleaning my fridge, stove, and stove top!
Laundry Supplies:
Liquid Laundry Detergent
I love the Tide liquid laundry detergent, it makes my laundry so fresh and good smelling.
This is definitely a must!
Dryer Sheets
The Snuggle dryer sheets are actually my favorite. They make your laundry so soft, and it also comes in a pack of 200 sheets.
Liquid Laundry Fabric Softener
For extra softness, I like to use a liquid laundry fabric softener as well. I’ve been using the Downy fabric softener for a while now and have been loving it!
Stain Remover For Clothes
Don’t forget getting a stain remover for clothes! You never know when that annoying stain can show up! 😉
Tide Instant Spot Remover For Clothes
Although this is not for laundry, but it is for clothes, so I have to include this.
In case you aren’t familiar, this is the best stain remover for clothes, mainly because it’s an instant spot remover for clothes, and is called the Tide To Go Pen, and it’s highly recommended!
It just makes your stains disappear ASAP!
Color Keeper
I don’t know about you, but the thing that frustrates me the most is white laundry and colored laundry.
I hate separating everything, and I especially hate worrying if I accidentally mix up something.
Anyways, about a month ago I discovered the Color Keeper, which is your ultimate bestie for mixing whites and colors in the same laundry load!
It makes sure that every colored shirt stays as it was, and that every white clothing piece doesn’t get colored at all!
Collapsible Laundry Basket
I am going to be honest here, I’m OBSESSED with this collapsible laundry basket! Seriously, who ever invented it is a genius.
Especially as someone who lives in a apartment, there isn’t always a nice place to put your laundry basket.
And this collapsible laundry basket definitely changes everything. Every time I finish using it, I just put it by the laundry machine, and it doesn’t takes space at all!
Collapsible Clothes Drying Rack
If you don’t have a dryer or prefer using a drying rack, get yourself this collapsible clothes drying rack!
After seeing it on TikTok, I immediately went to find it on Amazon, and it’s just the perfect drying rack for apartments.
Since it’s collapsible, you can store it anywhere you want when you are not using it!
Bathroom Cleaning Supplies:
Toilet Bowl Cleaner
Keep your toilet clean with this power toilet bowl cleaner! It comes in a set of two, and is very affordable as well.
Disinfecting Wipes
I love using disinfecting wipes for any cleaning task I can use them for. I love the Clorox disinfecting wipes.
They are bleach free, they come in a set of 3 boxes and with 75 wipes, and are perfect for cleaning any surface!
Toilet Plunger & Bowl Brush Combo
Moving into your first apartment means paying for stuff you don’t actually want to pay for, like this toilet plunger & bowl brush combo.
You need to, but you don’t want to.
Anyways, this set comes in black (as seen below), and in white as well.
Bleach Cleaner Spray
If you are looking for a good bleach cleaner spray, make sure to check out the Clorox Clean-Up Cleaner + bleach pack!

Reusable Cleaning Gloves
Next on our list of cleaning supplies for first apartment are reusable cleaning gloves!
It’s not necessarily for your bathroom only, but you will want to use them while cleaning your bathroom as well 😉

Magic Sponge Eraser
I never knew how life changing the Magic Sponge Eraser is, until I moved into my first apartment, and the other people who lived there before left some stains on the wall, and this Magic Sponge Eraser completely erased EVERYTHING!
Honestly, the wall looked freshly painted after I used the sponge on it.
Carpet Cleaner & Stain Remover
If you have a rug, or a carpet, that you definitely want to keep clean, you better be safe than sorry, and get yourself a carpet cleaner & stain remover spray!
Pet Hair Remover
As a dog mama myself, I know how messy things can get while having a pet that sheds. Especially between seasons, my dog sheds sooo much!
Anyways, I discovered this pet hair remover, which is perfect for removing pet hair from the couch, bed, car seats, or any other type of fabric surface that gets so much pet hair.
Tissues
I feel like having a tissues box is always a must-have in any house. So here’s the most affordable tissues box I found on Amazon!
