HOW TO BUDGET FOR FIRST APARTMENT:
Why Should You Budget For Your First Apartment?
Even though budgeting sounds boring, not fun, and a total headache, it’s the best way to make sure you will have enough money to pay rent, live your life, and also have more extras.
It’s important to plan in advance your future life, and know how to budget for your frist apartment.
With a proper plan, you should actually “live life to the fullest”, and be able to pay rent, pay monthly expenses, and also have extra money to save up.
The secret is in the planning!
How to Save Up For Your First Apartment?
The first step I did before moving into my first apartment, was started saving up!
I actually did something quite different from what I know others do.
I was aiming to save up for a year of rent in advance. Which means, I saved up enough to have my full rent covered for the whole year.
This was such a smart move since I basically didn’t need to worry at all about rent through the whole first year, and this way I was able to save up more money with the money I was making, and I also had more “space” in my salary to enjoy my favorite activities such as traveling, and everyday expenses.
How to Know How Much You Need to Save Up?
Well, all you need to do is to look at rent prices in the city/area you want to move out to, try to estimate how much your bills will be as well, and decide how much you are willing to spend on rent and bills.
Once you have that all figured out, you will know exactly how much you are going to spend on your apartment & bills, and can save up according to that.
How to Budget For Your First Apartment?
Moving on to the real question! how to budget for your first apartment?! Here are the answers!
Once you know how much you are saving up for rent, it’s time to start budgeting for your first apartment essentials and furniture!
For this step, I highly recommend getting your own copy of the First Apartment Budget Worksheet.
This is the best way to budget for your first apartment moving process, and to also keep track of your actual expenses.
This First Apartment Budget Worksheet comes with a full first apartment essentials checklist, that you can completely edit/change/add things to, and plan your budget, and see how much you actually spent on the product.
The worksheet comes with a kitchen essentials section, a bedroom essentials section, bathroom essentials section, random essentials & tech essentials sections, and a cleaning supplies section.
It’s completely automatic, which means that you insert your budget price, and the actual price, and it automatically calculates the total budget price and the total actual price you’ve spent on that section.
Also, if you are shopping online, it has a special place to insert links for products you want to buy and haven’t bought yet (or maybe you already bought but want to save the link).
Anyways, the First Apartment Budget Worksheet is super affordable! You can GET IT HERE for only $9.99, and receive life-time access to the Excel sheet and to all of it’s future updates!
